[NEWS] Movensys acquires Chinese patent for the first time in the industry

Movensys announced that it was the first Korean motion control company to acquire a patent in China.
This patent was obtained from CNIPA(China National Intellectual Property Administration), a Chinese patent office, and its main contents are 'Motion Control Program, Motion Control Method, and Motion Control Device'.
Movensys is the first company in the world to develop a motion control solution that controls factory equipment only with software, and is supplying technology and products to leading semiconductor companies and semiconductor-related companies at home and abroad.
'WMX', a representative product, is a software-based control solution that replaces PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) and motion control board. It is a PC-based soft motion controller that can realize high-speed multi-axis motion control of various manufacturing devices only with software installed on a Windows PC. It has already been recognized for its technology in the global market by supplying solutions to the best semiconductor-related companies at home and abroad.
Movensys is headquartered in Korea and has branches in Japan and the United States, respectively, and has already obtained patents in Korea and Japan. About 900 licenses were supplied to Taiwan and China through partners in 2021 and 2022, a branch office will be established in China or Taiwan to further expand the business.
Pyongwon Pak, CEO of Movensys, said, “The acquisition of Chinese patents following Korea and Japan means that motion control technology, which controls equipment purely with software, for the first time in the world, is being recognized worldwide. We plan to further accelerate our market expansion.”
Recently, smart factories require technologies that can integrate, control and manage multiple devices with software by convergence with new technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things(IoT), cloud, and big data. As an alternative to this, the growth of Movensys' WMX solution is expected.
Accordingly, Movensys plans to expand its business to global markets such as Taiwan, China, and the United States while expanding to fields such as displays, AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle), and logistics systems in the future.
