This agreement is part of a collaboration aimed at automating the warehouse logistics industry and maximizing operational efficiency using AMRs. By combining Movensys' advanced AMR control technology with IHI's expertise in logistics systems, the focus is on building innovative and differentiated warehouse automation systems.
Over the past year, Movensys has collaborated with IHI to develop a top-level control solution (Fleet Management System, or FMS) based on its AMR control solution, Jetstream. This system enables hundreds of AMRs within the same warehouse to perform tasks and manage routes more efficiently. The development has recently been validated, and IHI has incorporated it into their newly launched warehouse logistics automation solution, L-Sync. This solution was showcased at Japan's leading logistics exhibition, 2024 Logis-tech Tokyo, where it was highly praised for setting a global standard for AMR control technology in the warehouse logistics market.
Following this agreement, the two companies plan to jointly develop an even more advanced warehouse AMR operation system. The joint development will include improvements in AMR driving speed and precision, as well as enhancing natural path navigation functionality of the FMS.
Until recently, AMRs used in warehouse automation have primarily focused on cost competitiveness rather than performance or efficiency. However, this joint development between the two companies is based on price competitiveness and is even more special in that it will develop a software-centered AMR control solutions optimized for logistics automation. The combination of Movensys' unparalleled AMR control technology and IHI's expertise in logistics systems is expected to set new benchmarks for warehouse automation solutions.
Movensys Chairman and CTO Yang Boo-Ho stated, "Movensys' software technology, which began with motion control, has now expanded to include integrated control technology for autonomous mobile robots. We will continue to strive for market expansion through technological development and collaboration to establish global standards not only in AMR control but also in Mobile Manipulators (MoMa) and beyond."
